Fed: Computer scammer hijacks Cleo competition
A computer spammer is believed to have hijacked the Cleo Bachelor of the Year competition
.. trying to rig votes in favour of one of the contestants.
A spokeswoman for the magazine says judges became suspicious when they noticed one
contestant .. a musician .. had 15 thousand more votes than the next most popular contestant.
They believe it's the work of an automated computer system .. which can continually
send votes to a designated page every 10 seconds.
Cleo's editor-in-chief SARAH OAKES says they've never seen voting quite like this and
it's obviously raised suspicion.
The extra votes have been discounted .. but the contestant .. whose name hasn't been
revealed .. hasn't been disqualified.
The winner will be announced on April 22.
