NSW: Beetles return to rotten log they call home
SYDNEY, Jan 2 AAP - Rare beetles, traumatised by a bid to smuggle them out of Australiaearlier this week, are on their way back to the rotten log they call home.
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will send the 600 stag beetles and60 larvae back to the specific log types they occupy on Lord Howe Island.
They were found by custom officers hidden in cereal and biscuit packets inside theluggage of two men leaving Sydney for Thailand on Monday.
