Vic: Gang throws man off bridge into the Yarra River
A man was thrown off a pedestrian bridge into Melbourne's Yarra river and three other
men were bashed after they were set upon by a group of more than ten teenagers over the
weekend.
Four men were crossing the walk bridge between Flinders street and Southbank Promenade
in the early hours of last Saturday when a drink was thrown into the face of one of the
men.
Police say a fight broke out and three teenagers punched and kicked the 28-year-old
man who was pushed over the hand-rail of the bridge and into the Yarra river.
Another man, aged 37, had his teeth knocked out and two other men aged in their 20s
suffered minor injuries.
Police are searching for the attackers, believed to be aged in their late teens, with
one described as having a dark complexion with bleached orange blonde hair.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
