SA:SA motorist urged to fill up

ADELAIDE, Dec 19 AAP - South Australian motorists have been urged to top up their tanks
on Monday to get the cheapest petrol before Christmas.

The Royal Automobile Association (RAA) says petrol prices - currently $1.30 a litre
or lower - are set to jump.

"Fuel prices have been low since Friday, but motorists will need to fill up today to
avoid the impending price spike and get the cheapest possible fuel in the lead-up to Christmas,"

RAA senior analyst Chris West said.

"Prices are likely to rise 17 cents before Christmas Day as the price spike is already overdue."

Mr West said the South Australian motorists' group would continue to monitor fuel prices
over the Christmas period and provide advice on the best day to buy fuel.
